Work Experience
Each year we offer a select number of work experience places for students who have a career interest in theatre, as well as students who have a career interest in teaching and working with young people.
If you require work experience or placement hours, please contact info@fixationacademy.co.uk stating why you would like to be considered, a brief introduction to yourself and your career interests, along with the work experience hours you have available. We will then be in touch to arrange an interview.
Volunteering
We are always looking for fun, vibrant people with a love for theatre to join our volunteering team. We have an expanding team of enthusiastic volunteers who help within shoes, backstage, front of house, within classes and community projects.
As a volunteer on our Academy team you will:
- Meet new people and have fun!
- Enhance your CV with professional experience
- Gain a greater understanding of teaching
- Be a part of our team and help to make our shows come alive!
- Be given full training for the role
If you’re interested in joining our volunteer team, we’d love to hear from you
Please tell us a little bit about yourself to info@fixationacademy.co.uk and we will be in touch to arrange an interview.
All of our volunteers and work experience placements above the age of 16 will need to clear a DBS check to become part of the team.
Work Experience
After my mum found fixation through a friend on social media I knew it was going to be the perfect place for me to to my work experience.
I met with Laura before I started and told her the things I wanted to focus on (prop design and backstage management).
Laura and Carly made sure I had plenty of things to do in that area like helping with making the props for the show, which helped me bring out my creative side and being backstage during the shows.
My work experience was the duration of two weeks and after that I knew I wanted to stay on as a volunteer as everyone was so welcoming, I was learning a lot and doing the things I am passionate about. Luckily Laura took me on as a volunteer and has given me the opportunity for a potential job. Every week I am learning more and more and gaining more experience.
